Youth Sports• Youth Sports Parent participation is encouraged. Please contact the Sports Director, if you would like to assist our coach.

• Rollerblade Nights Open to all ages. Bring your rollerblades and join the fun in this evening supervised by YMCA staff. Beginners and experienced skaters welcome. Come and skate with friends. Learn to rollerblade in a safe environment. Parents may drop off children. • BadmintonThis racket sport class is for children aged 5 - 10 years old and is a great opportunity for children to build stamina, strength and speed. Instruction focuses on the rules of the game, rallies and point scoring. A badminton racquet is required. • Sportwall Tennis Using our interactive Sportwall, children 5 - 10 years old with intermediate/advanced tennis skills will work on improving their technique. Sportwall training takes the competition out of the mix so each player can practice and learn without pressure. Instant feedback encourages and boosts skills as well as self-esteem. tennis racquet is required. • Youth and Adult Karate This class is for those 6 years old and up. Instruction is in the techniques of Shotokan Karate from the beginner to advanced levels. Instructor is a 6th degree Blackbelt. • Youth Strength Training Teens 11 - 18 years old will have fun learning resistance training and agility techniques in safe and controlled manner. Through a variety of unique training exercises teens will learn safe and effective ways to meet their fitness goals as well as develop new friendships. Participants will gain better understanding of their abilities and how to properly use fitness equipment in order to continue to successfully maintaining healthy lifestyle. • Junior Athena This class focuses on the fitness needs of young women 11 - 18 years old while they learn resistance training and agility techniques in a safe and controlled manner. Through variety of unique training exercises participants will learn safe and effective ways to meet their fitness goals as well as develop new friendships. Participants will gain a better understanding of their abilities and how to properly use fitness equipment in order to continue to successfully maintaining healthy lifestyle. • Soccer For children 3 - 8 years old. This soccer class combines skills and drills with scrimmage games. In addition to mastering fundamentals children will learn about the value of teamwork and sportsmanship. Shin guards are highly recommended. • Basketball Children 4 - 13 years old will learn skills such as dribbling, shooting and defense in a fun filled atmosphere. Scrimmage games, which will stress technique, teamwork and character development, will be played. • Super SportsChildren 5 - 13 years old will enjoy the opportunity to explore several sports during one session. Instruction focuses on basic skills progression in soccer, basketball and flag football. • T-Ball Children 3 - 5 years old will learn basic baseball skills and develop hand/eye coordination. As skills progress, children will play modified scrimmage games. Baseball glove is required. Cleats are optional. • Street Floor HockeyChildren 8 - 12 years old will enjoy a program designed by the 2003 Stanley Cup Champions, New Jersey Devils. Hockey fundamentals and rules will be taught and players will be involved in fast-paced games. A mouth guard and water bottle are required and each player will receive a NJ Devils Playbook. • Mini-Tennis A class for children aged 5 - 10 years old using a smaller court and slower ball. Mini-tennis is a great way to develop the skills of young players and it’s USTA approved. A tennis racquet is required.

• Chess• Chess Classes For children 6 years and up; beginners to advanced players. Instructors teach the basics and help improve your game! Children develop problem solving and decision-making skills.
Dance• Gymnastics & Dance• Dance ProgramClasses in the style of ballet, tap and tumbling for children 3 years old and up. Develop skills and techniques. Leather ballet shoes, leotard and tights are required for girls; close fitting t-shirts/sweatpants and black dance shoes for boys. • GymnasticsThis class will build upon existing gymnastics/tumbling skills as well as increase knowledge in these skills for children 4 years old and up. Beginners to advanced levels. Girls must wear a leotard and sweatpants; boys must wear a t-shirt and sweatpants. Shoes are not required.

• Other Activities• Summer 2010 Math Classes (children entering 2nd - 5th grade) • Summer Math Enrichment: $100: Class ratio 7:1
July 19 – Aug. 20
Children will be divided by grade level. Classes will review math topics and strengthen your child’s problem solving skills. Topics include: time, money, ratios, graphing & geometry. Total of 10 classes: two classes each week for 5 weeks.

•Fitness Center Policies
• A Facility Membership is required to use the Fitness Center.

• Proper workout clothing and sneakers are required.

• Children under 13 years of age are not allowed to use the Fitness Center unless they are enrolled in a class or personal training session.

• Free weights and equipment must be returned to their proper place and users must wipe down machines after use.

• Any personal items should be stored in lockers in the locker rooms. Storage is at your own risk.

• New members are strongly encouraged to schedule their 3 free fitness orientations with a personal trainer before using the Fitness Center. Contact the Welcome Center at x201 for details.

• Birthday Parties New & Improved Celebrate your special day in a special way! Our Pool Parties and Sports Parties offer a unique way to add fun and excitement to your child's next birthday. Our energetic chaperones will give each party the attention they deserve. Sports Party will consist of two of the following activities of your choice: Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, T-Ball, Ping Pong, Kickball, Nintendo Wii, Sportwall and Dance Dance Revolution. Party includes: • Attentive chaperone to guide you through the party and assist you in any way possible
• 1 hour in the Pool or Youth Complex and 1 hour in our Gruber Room
• Specially designed YMCA invites for mailing
• Choice of table cloth and balloon colors

OPEN RECREATION
Open recreation in our Youth Complex is free to Facility Members. All Program and non-members pay a $5/child fee. YMCA staff supervise Open Recreation nights. Parents must complete the required registration paperwork prior to dropping-off children. Available during Open Recreation: • Nintendo Wii
