• Youth Sports Parent participation is encouraged. Please contact the Sports Director, if you would like to assist our coach. • Youth Soccer3-8 years old with parent. This program combines skill instruction with exciting scrimmage games. Children will learn the fundamentals of soccer in a safe, fun-filled atmosphere that focuses on teamwork and sportsmanship. Shin-guards are highly recommended for this program. Classes meet once weekly.• Youth Basketball4-10 years old. Children will practice various basketball skills such as dribbling, shooting and defense in a fun filled atmosphere. Players will be able to show off their skills in scrimmage games. The program stresses technique, teamwork and character development. Classes meet once weekly.• Floor Hockey6–10 years old. The 2003 Stanley Cup Champions, the New Jersey Devils have offered equipment and program direction for this exciting program. Hockey fundamentals and rules are taught during the first 3 weeks of this session. The remaining 5 weeks will consist of fast-paced games played in league format. Mouth guard required. Each player will receive a NJ Devils Playbook and water bottle. • Super Sports4-8 years old. Super Sports offers children the opportunity to explore a variety of sports in one session. Children will learn skill progression and play modified games in soccer and basketball. This class also includes exciting Capture the Flag games! • Extreme SportsThe YMCA will be offering a one week skill building opportunity for the sport enthusiasts. Classes will be held Tuesday through Friday. The class will meet four times during the week for 45 minutes. • BadmintonThis racket sport class is a great opportunity for children to build stamina, strength and speed. Children learn the rules of the game, rallies and point scoring. Classes meet once weekly. | Badminton Court Reservation Policy• Sportwall Tennis5–10 years old. Intermediate and advanced tennis players improve your technique with our interactive Sportwall. In this eight week class, you can practice your serve and play tennis like a pro. Sportwall training stations take the competition out of the mix so that every player is able to practice and learn without pressure. Our instant feedback encourages and boosts self-esteem and skills. • Strength Training11-16 years old. Resistance training introducing muscle strengthening in class format. • Youth KarateTrain from Beginner to Advanced levels of Martial Arts and Self Defense with Reda Sayed, 6th Degree Blackbelt Instructor. • Chess8-14 years old. Intermediate to Advanced Level. U.S. Certified Chess Coach Aleksandr Braylovskiy. Children ages 6 and up, beginners and advanced, learn the basics or improve your game! Have fun while developing problem solving and decision-making skills. Classes meet once weekly. There are four classes in each session. |

• Gymnastics & DanceThe YMCA partners with the Allstar Dance Studio to provide gymnastics and dance classes at the YMCA. • Developmental Gymnastics5–8 years old. Young gymnasts will be exposed to gymnastics apparatus as well as strengthening flexibility and tumbling skills. Students will build upon the basics as they explore and develop their gymnastics skills. Students who continue to enroll in this class throughout the year will progress and develop more advanced skills. • Developmental Gymnastics9–15 years old. For young gymnasts who have had some gymnastics experience. Children will further enhance their use of gymnastics apparatus as well as strengthening flexibility and tumbling skills. Students will build upon the basics as they explore and develop more advanced skills.• Dancing Tots3–4 years old. Children will be exposed to various dance forms including ballet, jazz, tap and tumbling. Students will build upon the basics as they explore and develop more advanced dance skills. • Dance Combo5-8 years old. Young dancers will be exposed to various dance forms including ballet, jazz, tap and tumbling. Students will build upon the basics as they explore and develop more advanced dance skills with each class. • Jazz Dance Class9-15 years old. If your youngsters like High School Musical or Cheetah Girls this is the class for them. Young dancers will learn jazz technique taught to contemporary music. Study includes isolations, stretching exercises and a course, dance combinations. |

• Community EducationTwo new programs offered in partnership with Princeton Health Care Systems. • Safer SitterThis 2 day class teaches adolescent, ages 11-13, how to be safe babysitters. It aims to provide the skills needed to ensure that Safe Sitter babysitters can keep children in their care out of harm's way while their parents are away. By completing this training sitters emerge as more confident, responsible and compassionate teens and adults. Safe sitters instruction focuses on building knowledge essential to being a babysitter including, safe and nuturing children techniques, rescue skills and basic first aid.Fee: Members $50, Non-members $60Saturday, October 4 & 11, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm• R.A.D. KIDSPrinceton HealthCare System is pleased to present R.A.D. KIDS, a national prgram designed to provide children with hope, options and practical skills to recognize, avoid, and if necessary, escape violence and abuse. R.A.D. KIDS is a five-session, activity-based program that includes lectures, safety drills, muscle memory exercise and phisical defense techniques.
Topics include:

• Metal Clay Introductory Class
(Adults and Teens 16+)In this class, students will learn all about a magical substance, Metal Clay, specifically Art Clay Silver. They will learn about its composition, techniques NEW used for rolling and molding, forming bales and holes, drying, finishing, firing, polishing and patinas.Using textures, scrapbooking cutters, and clay utencils that are provided or that students bring themselves, students will create unique pieces of 99.9 percent pure silver that can be used to make jewerly (for men and women), embellishments to pottery, finding for Jewerly, bookmarks, or sculpture. All projects will be finished in this two hours class.Tuition and fees per class:

Open recreation in our Youth Complex is free to Facility Members. All Program and non-members pay a $5 fee. YMCA staff supervise Open Recreation nights. Parents must complete the required registration paperwork prior to dropping-off children. |
